Worship has many expressions. To express love, gratitude, commitment, or trust to God is Worship. Anything we do or say can be true worship as long as it is an honest expression from our hearts. It’s really quite an amazing thing to realize that the God who created everything, who could have anything He wants, desires nothing more than for you and I to love and know Him. He could have anything and yet He wants us. Jesus said the greatest commandment is to love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength. That’s what worship is. It is any expression of love to God from our heart, mind, soul, and strength. It’s when we do something unto the Lord that we begin to truly worship. We must get the focus off of ourselves and give our full attention to our God. Regardless if we are singing, dancing, serving, studying, sacrificing, ushering, or whatever other actions we find ourselves doing, if we do it unto the Lord than it becomes the kind of true Worship that pleases God. Lord we pray that you would reveal yourself to us in a real way so that our hearts would respond to You with true Worship.

Here are a few verses that teach us about Worship:
“Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.” (John 4:23-24)
“Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God–this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will.” (Romans 12:1-2)
“Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our ‘God is a consuming fire.” (Hebrews 12:28-29)
“Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth. Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know that the LORD is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.” (Psalm 100:1-5)
“The Lord says: ‘These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is made up only of rules taught by men.” (Isaiah 29:13)
